Iceland: Land of Green

Incredible Iceland, beyond my expectations and truly a wondrous, captivating land that packs a great punch for such a small island nation, from abandoned ships, to endless lava fields, to volcanoes, to epic glaciers and icebergs, to beautiful black-sand beaches, there is just so much to revel in on this volcanic land.

After Iceland I travelled to Greenland (here's the thread for that)

This one looks like Minecraft, lol.

(because of the sharp geometric angles those boulders cleaved off at)

Well shot - breathtakingly beautiful. Can't wait to go myself. Did you have a small tripod for the waterfall long exposures? i'm amazed at the quality from a small point and shoot.

I loved these two threads so much.

I really miss the Icelanders. They used to come St. John's en masse for shopping every fall - plane after plane, boat after boat. But no more.

We knew them as well as the Portuguese, and the Russians, and the Americans.

Next you go back to Iceland, tell them the shopping is still good in St. John's and we miss them.

My, that's rather pretty.

A lot of these pictures look like they could've been taken in Ireland.

Looks like a place I definitely have to visit such unique landscapes. The shots of the horses really had a magical yet sad quality about them. I was thinking about them being out in the cold and rain and I guess they are just used to it, I doubt they have a place to take shelter.

Did you have a guide to take you all around the island? Looks like you covered a lot of ground.

I have alway been fascinated by Iceland, but for some reason it lost its magic to me. The scenario seems a bit boring; not much diversity as I had pictured. Places like Chile, Bolivia, New Zealand, Italy among others have so much more to offer in terms of scenario, that trying to understand the hype on Iceland gets more and more confusing. Great photos btw
