I visited Philadelphia for a few days in last october.
Some of my first impressions of the city : it feels a lot less gentrified than New York, actually Philadelphia looks like what I imagine New York could look like in the 1980's. Some areas seemed kinda ghetto, especially the hoods in North Philly where I ventured looking for the filming locations from the Rocky's saga. There were also a lot of beggars in downtown. On a more positive note, the city feels vibrant and cool, and has lot to offer, while being a lot less crowded by tourists than New York. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is very interesting : a lot less crowded than any of New York's art museums, but still as impressive.
