San Juan Islands, Washington

Here are some pics I took on my trip to the San Juan Islands when I went to Seattle.

Boarding Ferry in Pt. Townsend:

On the Ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor:

A baby seal!

A tree on the west side of San Juan Island:

Lighthouse on the west side of San Juan Island, with Canada in the distance:

I visited in late July/early August. The weather was truly awesome. I was visiting my gf who lives in Gig Harbor near Tacoma.

Great pics. I love the last two as it shows the drier climate contrasts found in the area because of the mountain rainshadows. I wish Olympia was in a rainshadow.

Nice shots.

A couple of tips for your next trip there:

1. Atop Mount Constitution on Orcas Island is the most spectacular scenic viewpoint on the islands, giving an extensive, almost 360-degree view of the surrounding islands and seas from a high elevation. Consider it an abomination that you didn't go there.

2. The English Camp is more impressive and has more things to see than the American Camp.

Great pictures! You should've made them bigger so we could see them better.
