College Hill is a neighborhood on the east side of Providence. The neighborhood is home to Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design. The neighborhood was known as "Prospect Hill" until the schools became more prominent in the city. Before Brown and the Rhode Island School of Design began to grow, the neighborhood was one of Providence's first populated areas, growing up the hill from Main Street.
