Nick Nurse will be light years better than Jay Triano.

I don't even know about being a good x's and o's guy. His defensive scheming as Toronto's head coach was terrible.

Funny that the US National team went out of their own country to hire such a shitty coach.

Congrats on making the finals Toronto. A great accomplishment.

Toronto in 5 back at home. Golden State will have rested too long. In basketball that can be a bad thing.

The best part about all of that was not a single arrest was made.;

The only factoid missing from that graphic is how many of those scorers had 17 rebounds in a deciding play-off game.

Wondering.

That's a horrible venue for basketball, but it's still a good-sized crowd. At least 15,000 and probably more even.

Isn't that at least a bit dependent on how far the series you've played in have gone? If all your series were four-game sweeps, obviously you'll get fewer points than if they all went to seven games.

Ditto for any overtime games.

Who ever thought that playing basketball in a baseball stadium was a good idea?

Why didn't they play out of Maple Leaf Gardens pre-ACC?

It was more/somewhat common back then for NBA clubs to play in larger stadiums with often weird set-up. I believe the Detroit Pistons played in the Silverdome for a while and the Seattle Supersonics played in the Kingdome too.

In some places they still do. This is Syracuse University, who get NBA+ sized crowds.

Actually, you're right about that. So while it's impressive, it's not a definitive statement of how Kawhi ranks among those other greats.

It’s good to be optimistic, but in 5?

Good luck to No. 2 against the real MVP of the playoffs, Steph Curry, who scored 23 in the 4th quarter of the closeout game at Houston, in what was actually the NBA Finals.

I sat in the second last row of the Carrier Dome at 'Cuse on the end and even though I could see the vast empty space to the side it really didn't feel that much different than being in a proper basketball arena. Now if it was a packed crowd it would be a different story.

I gotta say, I remember Triano's Raps teams being pretty bad, particularly at D. I think Phoenix hired him as head coach so they could lose games to get the high draft pick. But he has always been respected as an asst. coach. I personally don't think he has the personality for a head coach unless it's on a super talented team where things take care of themselves.
