Around The World In 30 Days Pt. 6: New York City

In case you missed the other parts:

Pt. 1: Seattle

Pt. 2: Chicagoland

Pt. 3: New Orleans

Pt. 4: Atlanta

Pt. 5: Boston

So, I finally made it back to the Bay... it's been quite the continental trip. What better way, then, than to end it with four days in the one and only NYC? Unlike the other places, I was only in NYC for the sake of visiting NYC as opposed to college visits.

The last time I was in NYC, I had stood inside the twin towers. Now, they're talking about rebuilding them... from only walking the streets of NYC though, you wouldn't know 9/11 had ever happened.

Now being old enough to appreciate the enormity of the city (I was only five the first time), I tried to take advantage of it. To describe NYC as photogenic is an understatement... it's so photogenic in fact that I have to split my trip into two separate threads to be able to load all the pics lol. This thread is of my first two days in the city.

I was most stricken by the pace of the entire city... even outside of Manhattan, NYC is the most hustle-and-bustle city I've been to. It's like if San Francisco was 10x bigger...

Anyway, I'm sure I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said better by a poet/author/fellow SSPer so I'll cut the essay short. Ultimately I just hope I was able to accurately capture what it's like to be in the neighborhoods of New York City I visited.

Day 1

Manhattan

Hell's Kitchen

Upper West Side

Garment District

Flatiron District

West Village

SoHo

Brooklyn

Brooklyn Heights

Brooklyn Bridge

Manhattan

Civic Center

Day 2

Manhattan

Lower East Side

Empire State Building

Koreatown

You really put in some miles around the US. Cool that you got to photograph it all too. So much to see in NY, nice set.

These 18th century gems were built by Aaron Burr, who killed Alexander Hamilton in their infamous duel.

Thank you very much for this great collection of pics of NYC, Nineties Flava!

I like very much NYC. Everything there is incredible. I like its neighbourhoods, its districts, its ambient, its people, its streets and avenues, its parks...

Greenwich village is a really pretty area for me, but each district has its own character and personality.

NYC has everything, as you show it in your beautiful pictures.

I´d like to live there, must be like living in the capital of the world. I was there four times, and I hope to go back soon, very soon.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Nope, the weather was great the entire time I was there. Waiting for the metro sucked though... those tunnels are ovens
