It's crazy. My father is from a rural part of the island about 3.5 hours drive south of St. John's. And he's told me many times he saw the northern lights a few times growing up. But I've never here. I did see it in Manitoba, but only at Christmas with my parents up in Bunibonibee Cree Nation.
I've never seem them anywhere that didn't feel like it was two steps from the north pole. I'd love to seen them somewhere like Vernon.

A couple years ago, I drove through Agassiz on my way to stop in at Harrison Hot Springs (namesake!) before heading into Vancouver. Gorgeous scenery around there.

This year's hiking season got really started this past saturday as we made out way to Squamish, BC to climb the lonely trail to the small Petgill Lake. Enjoy!
The trail begins green...
...but gets pretty dark around the halfway.
Unfortunately there is extensive clearcutting ongoing in the mid-mountain.
You can see the logging roads even from above.
Even more clearcutting on the other side of Howe Sound.
