Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK - Quayside

Hi everyone again, last year I posted two photo tours of Newcastle and everyone gave positive comments and seemed to enjoy seeing them. So here is another set taken just today. They are mainly of Newcastle's East Quayside and bridges.

It's probably worth mentioning that a lot of the East Quayside has undergone a significant amount of regeneration, so there are quite a few new buildings around here compared to the rest of the centre of Newcastle. The Quayside used to be a very industrial place in the past, full of warehouses and docks, but today it is very much leisure focused with hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs, art galleries and music venues.

Unfortunately the sun was at an akward place today so some of the photo's haven't turned out too great, but here goes anyway...

Hope everyone enjoys the photographs!

My dad's side of the family is German, too. He was born close to Hamburg. My mom's side of the family is English (Wales). So it makes sense.

I really like that pedestrian bridge. The new and renovated buildings featured are nice too. But I do have a soft spot in my heart for the older structures as well. Thanks for the tour.
