Over the last few days I have graduated and got a promotion to a full time permanent job so as a way to celebrate I took some friends from college that graduated along with me to Québec City to check out the 400th anniversary. Québec City is the oldest city in North America.
I definitely got my fix for beautiful architecture for the year.
So let’s begin in the heart of Québec City - Vieux Québec, the first city started in North America.....
Notre-Dame-des-Victoires. Yep, the first Roman Catholic Church in North America
Big boat
Chateau Frontenac
Rue du Trésor Outdoor Gallery
Events are taking place all over the city
Side of City Hall
Prime Minster of Quebec residence, elsewhere in Canada we say Premier
Simons a popular clothing store in Quebec, wish they would expand to Ontario
A rare photothread from SteelTown, a good one too! I'd really like to go the Quebec City.

Stunning pictures! Stunning city as well, this only intensifies my interest in visiting the city.
Not all of these pictures are from Vieux Quebec, are they?
It's nice to see the first Catholic church in North America, being a Catholic myself. Are they sure that they know that there are no churches in Mexico that are older, though?
"Mexico City is probably the oldest city in North America, as a continuation of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán, founded in about 1325. St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada was settled in 1528, and claims to be the oldest European-settled city in North America. St. John's earned its name when the explorer John Cabot became the first European to sail into its harbor on the Feast of St. John, June 24, 1497. It's also the easternmost city on the North American continent."
Hearing all these history stories over the last few days I'll admit I got confused so here's the proper wording....
"Quebec City is the first to have been founded with the goal of receiving permanent settlement, and not as a commercial outpost, and therefore is considered to be the first European-built city in non-Spanish North America."
Dude I hate you, these photos are hot. I never get tired of seeing this beautiful North American city.
Why I hate you? Because I've never been to Quebec City, and I'm so very jealous. I could kick myself because I've been so close (Montreal). Yet I didn't make it a point to visit. Thanks for sharing.
