Two months ago I moved to Morgantown, West Virginia as a Freshman at WVU. I just finally got around to making a thread, though I've been taking pictures for a while. Today was a gorgeous (albeit hazy) day, so I decided to take many more. I apologize for the blurriness and the brightness as I'm not a professional photographer and I also cannot afford a nice camera. Excuse the low level of pedestrian activity, it was a Sunday afternoon in around half of them. Morgantown is known for WVU, the one-of-a-kind Personal Rapid Transit System (PRT), it's very low unemployment rate, high tech industries, a great quality of life, and West Virginia Football and Basketball. Morgantown has a municipal population of around 29,000, an urban population of around 85,000, a MSA population of around 120,000, and it doesn't include roughly 29,000 students. It is the fastest-growing city in West Virginia. The city has received various awards and accolades:
* 2010: Morgantown named one of "America's Top College Football Towns" by Budget Travel
* 2008: Morgantown named "Well City" by the Wellness Councils of America and the Wellness Council of West Virginia.

"Steeped in history, surrounded by majesty and immortalized in a Joni Mitchell song, Morgantown gave birth to "Barney Fife" legend Don Knotts and remains a jewel of the Monongahela River with stunning scenery and a vibrant arts community. Take your date on a thrilling kayak ride through Cheat Canyon and stop for lunch on the river along the way. West Virginia University is here, too." -CNN
