Very nice tour and pictures! I´ve liked all those towns in Indiana. I like the architecture in them. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Bravo, great college towns (and others too). Terre Haute looks better than my visit 10 years ago. Thanks for the pics.

You crossed into my work hinterland, the flat "grand prairie" of central illinois - full of good people and even more corn.

Nice - it looks like you captured a lot of the new buildings going up in CU, including the new Hyatt hotel downtown as well as the highrises going up on Green St. Speaking of which, do you know what that tower crane is for? I'm wondering if it's for the new hotel by Legends or the fancy apartments where IHOP used to stand.

Edit: looking at another photo it looks like the IHOP tower, which I'm kind of pleasantly surprised is going ahead.

Great pictures! I don't think I've seen pictures of Terre Haute before, so that was nice. I always thought South Bend was unimpressive, but your pictures indicate otherwise.

Very nice job Chris. You have single-handily changed my perception in a good way of some of these towns. One of my nephews went to school for about a year in Urbana, so I was curious about it.

Your photos are bringing back memories of you and I traversing our states (and dreaded Indiana as well) taking in large cities and small towns all from the comfort and luxury of the "No-sex-in-the-champagne-colored-Saturn". Great stuff Chris!

Hey, you got a little Michiana in your Illiana!

Seriously, though, this was a very satisfying thread and all cities involved are looking great. South Bend in particular is looking much better than last time I was there, which was admittedly a long time ago. And Notre Dame's campus is hard to beat--it's just about perfect.

I'm not sure I've ever seen any pics of Terra Haute. Looks decent. Great pics of Chicago of course. Where were the last photos taken? That place looks amazing.

^ Ahhh no! Terre. It sounds kind of Italian otherwise, while the cool name likely came from France's old adventurers!
The name America was derived from that of an Italian explorer, however.
