Ogden, Utah, located about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City, is traditionally considered Utah's second city, and boomed during completion of the Transcontinental Railroad as it served as a major hub. This spurred major growth in the early decades of the 1900s, lending to many of the historic buildings and architecture seen. After the decline of the railroad, Ogden saw a decline in prominence, which led to a reputation of being run down and crime-ridden during the later part of the 1900s. The city of nearly 83,000 has started seeing positive growth again, in both population and revitalization, and the city and community have taken a very proactive approach. 25th Street is considered one of the most vibrant and hip in the entire state, and the historical architecture and homes are among the most notable in Utah. The city is also known for being quite diverse and has plenty of character. Additional info: Wikipedia -
