Looks they've already made a substantial pour. On the Mission St side there are two glass windows in the fence that allows one to peek in and get a glimpse of that's going on down there. One can begin to see the circular footprint of the tower on close inspection.

Also the photo above is about a month and a half old.

I took this through one of those windows on Thursday; it was easy to see the bottom of the pit, but I couldn't angle my iPhone to capture it very well. There was also a cement truck delivering on the First Street side at the time.

"Trying to be patient"? Do you have dibs on an office in this building?

Dude, you have 5 posts to your name and joined the website this year and at least 2 of your posts are ragging on people completely unnecessarily for being a little obsessed with skyscraper construction and righteously impatient as a result. You need to get with the program and realize who your peers are on this site before you start getting all personal. If you don't give two shits about any of this and could care less when these buildings open or even if they do, probably hold your tongue.

NOPA, on the tower cam you can see the circular outline pretty clearly now of the exterior support system, and they recently removed machinery from the hole. I suspect we are just about there. Given that this tower is nearly 1100 ft tall with a much larger footprint and the fact that it started after 181 Fremont, I feel a little more forgiving than with 181.

So maybe another year before this thing gets to ground level.. I hope the economy stays as strong as it is for another year or this thing could stall for many many more years (a la One Rincon tower 2, or the Chicago Spire).

But Salesforce Tower is financed, is not timing the residential market, and at 50% leased, is not speculative. Delays would only result in lost income for the developer. This building will be built, and at this point, there's very little chance of a halt in construction.

Pic down into the hole. You can clearly see the start of the perimeter columns now.

^Finally! It's so hard to see down into this from anywhere publicly accessible. Thanks for finding that.

Rumor is that some of the footings need to be redone. concrete strength did not pass tests.

Not good news, may be some delay/rework.

Trying to get confirmation on this.

^^^That makes sense. Honestly, it looks like that's what they've been doing. They brought many of the same machines down there again over the past 1-2 months to do what looks like what they've already done. Now those machines are out of the hole. I'm hoping that they've already redone some of the footings.

^Your guess is as good as mine? I'm just reading vague comments construction workers are posting on instagram/twitter.

Looks like SFHog did an update that's fairly recent.

From the webcam it looks like they're pushing dirt around inside the circle, where the photo is labelled "thick concrete foundation mat".

I think we're all wrong.... I think they are simply digging a hole to China, and that they will make a surprise announcement at some point in the future!

But in all seriousness... they are digging way down again. this time in the center, where / when will they stop?

Meanwhile, in China, where earthquakes are no stranger, they are constructing a 1,740 ft. tower. In 1 ½ years they have gone from this:

Here is my pic of Transbay Tower site from around the same time as the first pic (March 2014)

For the zillionth time, Salesforce Tower is being built on landfill and that means extra work underground. Some random Chinese tower not being built on landfill? Off topic.
