Stop VII of the Asian Saga: Delhi a new hope. Well, at least a new country. Previously, I said good bye to China in Gaungxi, which can be seen here and made my way west to the capital of Northern India, Delhi. This was my first time in India and I had no idea what to expect. Travelers always say that there is no where else in the world like India. I found this to be true but only after touring the diverse country for a month. Delhi has some spectacular sites but the charm that is exists elsewhere in India is difficult to discover in the hot and dirty metropolis. Regardless, hitting a the streets, camera in hand, in a completely new and foreign place is about as high as it gets, and Delhi didn't disappoint. I only spent a few days in the city and then quickly headed north to Kashmir. Lots of shots from the Jama Masjid mosque and surrounding streets of the bazaar, a b'hai temple and some tombs in the south and some night shots around the main bazaar. Hope you like archways...
Great thread! I would hate to be the electrical provider in New Delhi, though. Look at that tangled mess! If there is a power outage it would be like sifting through a giant bowl of spaghetti...

Wonderful! The old town of Delhi is maybe the most intense place in the world! I saw people smoking heroin on the street there which disturbed me. Love the Jama Masjid too.
I'm surprised you got a picture of beggars though, not sure I'd feel ok doing that.
You really captured the energy amazingly well. Can't wait to see the Kashmir thread.
Oh man, I wish I had the smell-o-net. That'd be sweet!
Uhh, i don't think that would be too great.
And yes, Lipani, I agree that Okayyou is one of our greatest new assets. We love you, Okay, you?
I really like how colorful the Indian women dress. I like the shirtless rastas on the street too. It's a shame that the area and country are so overpopulated and dirty but it's a fascinating country.
