Siberia from North to East. Part 4 : Yeniseisk and Podtesovo

So here is the fourth thread about the trip I've just done in Siberia.
Here are the links towards the first three threads :
Siberia from North to East. Part 1 : Norilsk
Siberia from North to East. Part 2 : Dudinka
Siberia from North to East. Part 3 : Along the Yenisei

Podtesovo and Yeniseisk are two little towns located on the Yenisei river. They are the first towns on the Yenisei linked by road to the rest of the country and to the nearest big city of Krasnoyarsk (about 350 km to the south of Yeniseisk).
Podtesovo is the town from where most of the boat crew are.
Yeniseisk (where my boat trip ended) is located at one or two hours by boat from Podtesovo. It used to be the biggest city of Siberia back in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is now a little town of 20,000 people.

The second town has charming buildings. I would love to see the interiors. Thanks for these wonderful pictures.

Nice pictures. The architecture warmed up with the temperatures it looks like. The log houses and other wooden buildings are a nice change from the nasty commieblocks.

Nice shots of the cars lined up for the ferry and the children playing in front of an old house. I bet that market was interesting. Nice flavour with the tale of the pianist police officer.

The nature in this thread reminds me of what you see here in Minnesota, but the society and built enviornment are so alien. It is a jarring effect.

Thank you for these. They remind me that people find a way to live in all sorts of environments and adjust their expectations according to where they live.

Despite the remoteness, I liked a lot of the architecture here. That cat looks like he'll mess you up if you get too close. Thanks!
