San Diego [birth of a new neighborhood] and San Francisco misc.

Hey everyone, just bought a new camera last week which I'm in LOVE with! Over the weekend I was in San Diego at my dad's place, where he lives in the heart of the Gaslamp. I decided to take a walk over to East Village, right next to the Gaslamp, where a lot of new development has been occurring. It's a pretty cool area with a lot of new, funky lofts and condos. It's an area that's flourishing and trying to find itself.

Secondly are just a few shots of San Francisco (where I live) that I took this week; nothing special...other than that it was 40F when I took them. Freezing cold for us Californians!

That neighborhood in San Diego is really beautiful. Is it majority new buildings? What was there before?

The majority of it all is new, yes. What was there before? Shooting alleys and parking lots!

Cool tour. I used to stay at the Hilton your dad's place looks down on every year and spent a little time walking around that area. Looks like it's coming along nicely. Have fun with the new camera!

Really interesting looking city. I like the looks of that transit corridor, too.

A unique view of SD's urbanity for sure. And plus HTML code won't work on the forum.

It's the San Diego Convention Center. The Orange Line Trolley (LRT) runs along Harbor Dr. next to it.

I don't get it - my pictures don't look this grainy, only after they've been uploaded to Flickr? Why is this? The quality/resolution should be much better.

So shiny!

Why the difference in foot traffic from the first set to the later?

San Diego has really improved. I always love the celebration of vibrant color in many of the buildings. Nice shots of SF too.
