Pics from this past weekend of my neighbourhood... enjoy.
Main Street (rue Principale) is getting a multi-million dollar makeover.. new sewer, sidewalks, lighting.. hydro lines being buried. Should look great when it's all finished..
Wholesome adult establishment in the heart of town.
Bistro l'Autre oeil - they serve a whack of microbrews
In the old part of town, there are many brick houses that are reminiscent of downtown Ottawa's Centretown neighbourhood.
This one was for sale.
The King of Beer - Marché Gravelle. People come from all over for his zany prices.
St. Paul's Cathedral - once a dominating landmark, it had been reduced to ruins this past June, a victim of arson.
aww..
This grocery store used to be a dump, now it's been nicely renovated. One of the few remaining independent grocers in town - I try to go there as often as I can.. not just to help out the local economy, but also because the staff there is pretty attractive.
Gatineau is having an election for Mayor this November 1st. it is quite possibly the most boring campaign in the history of mayoral elections.
These two places just opened up recently, and they are both quite good.
I am misleading you with this sign.. the Szechwan place is next door, and this is actually a Chocolate shop.
Selling flowers in the cold.. gotta be fun.
Another dump of a mini-mall being renovated. I don't know what was here before.. I think it was a driving school and some unknown asian restaurant.
In the background - the rivière des Outaouais and neighbouring Ottawa, ON.
Happy Thanksgiving (for Canada, that is..)
